This year will be the 28th annual camp. Blind kids and adults have been coming from all over Australia and New Zealand to sing and play and learn braille music all these years.
Yes, you can write music in braille. No lines or anything, just combinations of dots that you can get from a group of 6. Well, dots to us but little bumps to blind people.
Blind musicians need to be literate so they need to learn braille music and it’s not on the school curriculum. At this camp we help them.
Lots of singing goes on with braille copies to read from and a little orchestra, jazz groups and lots of small ensembles made by the campers in their spare time.
